1. The Association “Musica in Valle Camonica”, in collaboration with the Town of Breno (Brescia) and Mensi’s Family calls the 11th edition of the international performing competition for clarinet ”Giacomo Mensi”, in order to nurture the talent of the young musicians
2. The competition is aimed at Italian and Foreign contestants of either sex
3. The Contest is divided into two sections:
   • “Excellence” (without age limits)
   • “Young Promises” (section A up to 14 years; section B up to 18 years)
4. The candidate may choose to take part in a superior category, but not in a lower
5. The Contest provides for the presence of an Honour Committee, composed of personalities from the cultural, socio-political and economic society, aimed both at give prominence to the Contest and stand surety for it
6. The technical organization, the programmatic advice, the monitoring and the supervision of the Contest , is handled by a Technical Committe composed of professionals, coordinated by the Artistic
7. The Jury is composed by Musicians of high reputation, whose judgement will be final
8. The competition, open to the public, will take place in Breno (Brescia) in the “Centro S.Siro” (next to the Duomo) from the 9 – 12 May , 2019
   All the contestants will have to present themselves with their identity card in the day and hour that will be communicated to them
9. Those candidates who do not arrive on time at the competition will be automatically eliminated. Nevertheless, on condition that the delay is irrefutably due to circumstances beyond their own control, they will not be excluded, as long as the audition of their category has not been completed yet. In such case, they may be admitted to perform according to the unquestionable judgment of the Technical Committee
10. The candidates presentation order for the auditions of Category Excellence will be defined by an extraction which will held at the presence of the candidates before the beginning of all the stages of the Contest
11. The candidates presentation order for the auditions of Category Young Promises will be held in alphabetic order (with the beginning from the letter which will extracted at the presence of the candidates before the beginning of all the stages of the Contest
12. The candidates presentation order for the auditions of the semifinal stage will be defined by extraction
13. The Jury is able to stop the performances of the trial at any moment or do some other trials
14. The Jury has the unquestionable authority not to award one or all prizes if the artistic level the candidates will turn out to be unsatisfactory
15. The Jury may recommend those candidates who have particularly distinguished themselves for the high quality of their performances
16. Those members of the Jury who were or have been the candidates’ Maestri (in the past two years prior to the competition) and/or their relatives (within the 4° degree), must immediately inform (issueing a writing statement) the Technical Committee. For the Young Promises Categories (both A and B) the juror will refrain from voting when it comes to the judgment and assessment of their pupils or relatives. For the Excellence Category will intervene the Technical Committee (at the end of each stage and before the proclamation): the names of the candidates will be assigned with the number of execution, then the vote of the juror will be taken away and replaced with the arithmetic mean of the vote of the other jurors
17. The first classed of each Section will not can stand as a candidate again in the same Section

Attention:

A curtain will hide the Jury during the performances. In this way the Jury will not recognize the candidate who is performing and so it will be able to give an unbiased judgment.
The Jury could choose not to give those prizes for which a high artistic level would not turn out in the performance.
The candidates will perform with the original edition of the scores.
The candidates who don’t have their own pianist can use the Organization’s one, paying a fee of € 40,00 (if confirmed at the act of registration) for a twenty-five minutes trial; if the confirmation for the pianist will be done after the act of registration the fee will be of € 50,00 (for a twenty-five minutes trial).
The schedule of the trials will be communicated with a letter of notification to attend.

Cat. “YOUNG PROMISES”

Section A (up to 14 years)

Attention:
If a candidate has  his own teacher in the Jury, the teacher will not vote.
The candidates must send, together with the inscription card, a copy of their free choice pieces.
The candidates who don’t have their own pianist can use the Organization’s one, paying a fee of € 20,00 (if confirmed at the act of registration) for a fifteen-minutes trial; if the confirmation for the pianist will be done after the act of registration the fee will be of € 30,00 (for a fifteen-minutes trial).
The schedule of the trials will be communicated with the letter of notification to attend.

19. The prizes are:

Cat. “Excellence”:

1° Diploma “Concorso G. Mensi”,  € 1.500,00
and a € 1,000.00 voucher offered by the Patricola company for the purchase of a “Virtuoso” or “Artista” clarinet. Voucher for travel contribution of € 100, 00 – hundred – and free stay for the entire competition

2° Diploma “Concorso G. Mensi” and scholarship of € 700,00 (seven hundred) and a voucher for travel contribution of € 100, 00 – hundred –

3° Diploma “Concorso G. Mensi” and scholarship of € 400,00 (four hundred) and a voucher for travel contribution of € 100, 00 – hundred –

Cat. “GIOVANI PROMESSE” | Cat. “Young Promises”

Sez.  A
1° Diploma and scholarship of € 200,00 (two hundred)
2° Diploma and scholarship of € 150,00 (one hundred and fifty)
3°Diploma and scholarship of € 100,00 (one hundred)

Sez.  B
1° Diploma and scholarship of € 300,00 (three hundred)
2° Diploma and scholarship of € 200,00 (two hundred)

Attention:

The winners of the 1st and the 2nd prizes of the Cat. “Excellence” will perform,  with the orchestra “A.Vivaldi” of Vallecamonica, the award final concert on Saturday June 3rd, 2017  in Breno (20,45). The winner of the 1st prize will perform the “F. Danzi Lá ci darem la mano – Fantasy; the winner of the second and third prize will perform with the Orchestra a piece concorded with the Artistic Director.
The winners of the Cat. “Young Promises” (both A and B) will perform during the concert in Breno, San Siro Centre; they will play the piece selected by the Artistic Director.
Not participate to the final concert means you will renounce to the prizes.
The winner of the Cat. “Excellence” will be on in formal dress. The concert will be recorded.
Any Tv, radio of photographic reproductions of the event will not give the candidates right to any form of economic compensation.
The inscription means the total acceptance of these regulations.

20. In case of ex-aequo the prizes will be divided
21. The inscription card to the Competition, typed or clearly written in block capitols according to the enclosed facsimile (arranged to be copied), must contain the required personal details.
    Registration fees are € 50,00 for the Cat. “Excellence” and € 25,00 for the Cat. “Young Promises”.
    The participants have to effect the payment in advance:
    – By postal order or by non-negotiable cheque entered in “Associazione Musica in Valle Camonica”
    – By bank transfer directly to the C/C entered in “Associazione Musica in Valle Camonica” c/o “Cassa Padana Filiale di Breno”; IBAN Code: IT 88  S083 4054 1600 0000 0005 111
    The cheque or the copy of the bank transfer must be delivered with the inscription card directly to: Associazione Musica in Vallecamonica, Via Donatori di Sangue, 28 I-25043 Breno (BS) [Italy] within the 30th April, 2019 (date of the postmark).
    Applications submitted after the deadline, duly justified, will be considered at the discretion of the Technical Committee of the Contest.
22. The candidates will pay for their own travel, food and lodging expenses. However, the organization of the event will be pleased to provide them with information about the best offers and conditions concerning both accommodation and food facilities
23. The summoning dates and times for each category will be sent to the e-mail address indicated in the registration form within 15 days from the deadline entry. Therefore, each candidate will be duly informed about the meeting directly calling the secretary of the artistic organization, who, however, is not liable for any possible
24. In case a candidate (regardless of his/her qualifications) takes part in the competition, without being in possession of all the above-mentioned requirements, he/she will automatically lose all rights to the competition itself as well to any refund
25. The application to the competition implies acceptance both of all the conditions of this General Rules and of all the possible modifications made by the Artistic Direction and by the Organisation. Any Tv, radio of photographic reproductions of the event are reserved to the organization and will not give the candidates right to any form of economic compensation. During the Contest and the Award Concert the video and audio recording are prohibited (except those authorized by the Technical Committee
26. The Organization could eventually make some modifications and cancel all or part of the Competition, if some causes, which will not depend from its own will, prevented from carrying out the Competition. It will return the entrance fee in this event only
27. The Organization of the Competition disclaims all responsibility for the risks or damages which could derive from the contestants during all the event

1. L’Associazione Musica in Vallecamonica, in collaborazione con il Comune di Breno (Brescia) e la famiglia Mensi, al fine di valorizzare i giovani musicisti, indice la 11ª edizione del Concorso Internazionale di Esecuzione musicale per Clarinetto “Giacomo Mensi”, in memoria del giovane clarinettista brenese prematuramente scomparso.
2. Il concorso è aperto a musicisti ambosessi provenienti da ogni nazione del mondo.
3. Il Concorso si articola in due categorie:

• “Eccellenza” (senza limiti di età
• “Giovani Promesse” (sez. A fino a 14 anni; sez. B fino a 18 anni)

4. Il candidato può scegliere di partecipare ad una categoria superiore a quella di appartenenza, ma non ad una inferiore.
5. Il Concorso prevede la presenza di un Comitato d’Onore, composto da personalità provenienti dal mondo culturale, socio politico ed economico, finalizzato a dare risalto e prestigio alla manifestazione ed a fungere da “garante” della stessa
6. L’organizzazione tecnica, la consulenza programmatica, il monitoraggio e la supervisione dell’evento è affidata ad un Comitato Tecnico composto da professionisti il cui coordinamento è affidato al Direttore Artistico
7. La Giuria è composta da Musicisti di chiara fama il cui giudizio è definitivo, insindacabile ed inappellabile
8. Il Concorso, aperto al pubblico, si svolgerà a Breno (Brescia) presso il “Centro S. Siro” (a fianco del Duomo) nei giorni 9 – 12 Maggio 2019. Tutti i concorrenti dovranno presentarsi nel giorno ed ora che saranno loro comunicati, con un documento d’identità
9. I ritardatari saranno esclusi dal Concorso. Qualora il ritardo sia causato da comprovati motivi di forza maggiore e purché non sia già terminata la prova della loro categoria, i candidati ritardatari potranno, a insindacabile giudizio del Comitato Tecnico, essere ammessi a sostenere la prova stessa
10. I candidati della categoria ECCELLENZA saranno ascoltati secondo l’ordine risultante dall’estrazione che verrà effettuata alla presenza dei candidati stessi prima dell’inizio delle diverse fasi di selezione
11. I candidati della categoria GIOVANI PROMESSE saranno ascoltati in ordine alfabetico (iniziando dalla lettera che verrà estratta alla presenza dei candidati stessi prima dell’inizio delle diverse fasi di selezione
12. L’ordine di presentazione dei candidati alle fasi eliminatorie sarà definito per estrazione
13. La Giuria ha la facoltà di interrompere le esecuzioni in qualsiasi momento della prova o di indire prove
14. La Giuria potrà a proprio insindacabile giudizio non procedere all’assegnazione dei premi qualora il livello artistico dei candidati risulti insufficiente; in ogni caso il giudizio della commissione è inappellabile
15. La Giuria potrà segnalare quei concorrenti che si siano particolarmente distinti per la qualità delle loro
16. I componenti della Giuria maestri, ex maestri (negli ultimi due anni precedenti il concorso) o parenti (entro il 4° grado) di qualche candidato, devono informare il Comitato Tecnico dell’esistenza di tale circostanza mediante dichiarazione relativa alla propria posizione nei confronti dei concorrenti. Per le Categorie Giovani Promesse A e B il giurato in tale posizione di asterrà dal voto; per l’Eccellenza il Comitato Tecnico, a seguito dell’abbinamento dei nomi dei candidati con i numeri di esecuzione al termine di ogni fase e prima della proclamazione, toglierà il voto del giurato sostituendolo con la media aritmetica dei voti dei restanti
17. Il primo classificato di ogni categoria o sezione non potrà ripresentarsi alle successive edizioni del concorso per la stessa categoria o sezione
18. I candidati dovranno eseguire il programma di cui sotto:

N.B.:

Nelle prove di esecuzione la Giuria sarà nascosta da una tenda in modo che non possa riconoscere il candidato che si sta esibendo, al fine di garantire un giudizio imparziale .

La Giuria potrà riservarsi la facoltà di non assegnare quei premi per i quali non risultasse un elevato livello artistico nell’esecuzione.

I concorrenti dovranno essere muniti dei brani in originale.

I candidati che non disporranno del pianista accompagnatore potranno utilizzare quello messo a disposizione dall’Organizzazione, versando una quota suppletiva di € 40,00 (se confermato all’atto dell’iscrizione) per una prova di 25 minuti; se il pianista viene richiesto e confermato successivamente il costo sarà di € 50,00, sempre per una prova di 25 minuti.

L’orario delle prove verrà comunicato con la lettera di convocazione.

N.B.:  Qualora un candidato abbia il proprio Maestro in Commissione, lo stesso si asterrà dal voto.
I candidati dovranno inviare, insieme all’iscrizione, una copia del brano a libera scelta.
I concorrenti dovranno essere muniti dei brani in originale.

19. Sono previsti i seguenti premi:

Voucher per contributo viaggio di € 100, 00 – cento -  e soggiorno gratuito per tutto il Concorso

N.B.:

I vincitori del 1° e del 2° Premio della categoria Eccellenza terranno il concerto finale di premiazione,  con l’Orchestra da camera «A.Vivaldi» di Valle Camonica, sabato 3 Giugno 2017 – ore 20.45 nella Chiesa di S. Maurizio in Breno, con ingresso libero;
il primo classificato eseguirà il brano di F. Danzi “Lá ci darem la mano – Fantasy;
il secondo e terzo classificato eseguiranno, sempre con l’Orchestra, un brano concordato con il Direttore Artistico.

I vincitori delle Categorie Giovani Promesse A e B si esibiranno in un concerto che si terrà  presso il Centro San Siro, eseguendo il brano scelto dal Direttore Artistico.

La mancata partecipazione al concerto finale implica la rinuncia al premio.

Il vincitore della categoria Eccellenza dovrà esibirsi in abito da cerimonia. Il concerto verrà registrato

L’eventuale utilizzazione televisiva o radiofonica o fotografica delle esecuzioni non comporterà diritti o compensi per i candidati.

La presentazione della domanda comporta l’incondizionata accettazione del presente regolamento.

20. In case of ex-aequo the prizes will be divided
21. La scheda di iscrizione al Concorso, dattiloscritta o scritta chiaramente in stampatello secondo il fac-simile allegato (che potrà essere fotocopiato), dovrà contenere i dati anagrafici richiesti.
    La quota di iscrizione per la Cat. “Eccellenza” è di € 50,00 e per la Cat. “Giovani Promesse” è di € 25,00.
    Il versamento dovrà essere effettuato:
    – con vaglia o assegno circolare non trasferibile intestato a “Associazione Musica in Valle Camonica”
    – con bonifico bancario sul C/C dell’Associazione Musica  in Valle Camonica presso la Cassa Padana Filiale di Breno;  Codice IBAN: IT 88S0834054160000000005111.
    L’assegno o la copia del bonifico dovranno essere spediti, unitamente alla scheda di iscrizione, a:  Associazione Musica in Valle Camonica – via Donatori di Sangue, 28 – 25043 Breno (Bs) – entro e non oltre il 30 Aprile 2019 (farà fede la data del timbro postale).
    Le domande inoltrate oltre il termine, debitamente motivate, potranno essere prese in considerazione a giudizio insindacabile del Comitato Tecnico del concorso.
22. Le spese di viaggio vitto ed alloggio sono a carico dei candidati. Sul sito del Concorso e presso la segreteria dello stesso sono disponibili informazioni su alberghi e ristoranti convenzionati con la manifestazione
23. L’avviso di convocazione verrà inviato tramite posta elettronica all’indirizzo comunicato nella scheda d’iscrizione, entro 15 giorni dal termine d’iscrizione. La segreteria organizzativa non risponde di eventuali disguidi, pertanto gli interessati dovranno informarsi personalmente nel caso di
24. I candidati che, per qualsiasi motivo, si trovino a prendere parte al Concorso regolarmente convocati, senza possedere tutti i requisiti previsti dal presente regolamento, perdono immediatamente ogni diritto relativo al Concorso stesso e a qualsiasi risarcimento
25. La partecipazione al concorso comporta l’accettazione totale e incondizionata del presente regolamento, nonché delle eventuali modifiche apportate dalla direzione artistica ed organizzativa. Tutti i diritti di eventuali registrazioni audiovisive, fotografiche e radiofoniche sono riservati all’organizzazione del Concorso e nessun compenso può essere richiesto per le sopra citate registrazioni. Durante le audizioni ed il concerto di premiazione sono vietate le riprese e registrazioni sia audiovisive che fotografiche, salvo quelle autorizzate dal Comitato Tecnico
26. L’Organizzazione si riserva la facoltà di apportare al presente bando eventuali modifiche e di annullare tutto o parte del Concorso, qualora cause indipendenti dalla propria volontà ne impedissero l’effettuazione; nel qual caso, e solo in questo caso, verrà restituita la quota di iscrizione versata
27. L’Organizzazione del Concorso non si assume la responsabilità di rischi o danni di qualsiasi natura che dovessero derivare ai concorrenti durante il corso di tutta la manifestazione
